MCAS Hiding in Plain Sight?

Synopsis: I rapidly became ill. Twice a day I would have an episode… burning in my abdomen, wrenching pain, nausea, bloody diarrhoea, flushing. I saw dozens of doctors, going in circles, getting increasingly desperate. I was told my symptoms were medically inexplicable and was diagnosed with a Somatisation disorder.

An NHS Professor, after a structured evaluation, suspected the Mast Cell was one of the few things that could cause my symptoms, he discovered Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), diagnosed and treated me and saved my life. There are virtually no NHS doctors focusing on this condition but many private clinics.
