Talk: Creating genetic reports that are understood by non-specialists – a case study
Bio: Dr. Gabriel Recchia is a research associate at the Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication at the University of Cambridge, where he is currently studying how best to communicate information about risks and benefits associated with medical treatments. He also studies the effects of different ways of communicating statistics and scientific evidence. At the Winton Centre, he currently leads projects on the development and evaluation of patient-friendly genetic reports, as well as on the design and evaluation of proposed changes to the interface of breast.predict.nhs.uk. He is also interested in the design, development, and evaluation of ‘human-interpretable’ predictive models and their applications.
