GETTING TO CAMBRIDGE…

There are a number of ways to travel to Cambridge:

By train

By bus

The Guilhall is a five-minute walk away from the City’s main Bus and Coach Station, Drummer Street.

The Bus Station hosts several local bus companies, and the main operator is Stagecoach who operates many local services.

There are also direct services to and from London Victoria, as well as services to Stansted, Heathrow, Gatwick and stations throughout the United Kingdom.

BLUE BADGE PARKING

There are car parks nearby at The Grand Arcade, Park Street and Queen Anne. If your car displays a disability badge you can use the reserved spaces in either car park. There are also a limited number of designated free on-street parking spaces in Guildhall Street, Hobson Street, Jesus Lane, Kings Parade, Peas Hill, Regent Street, St Andrews Street and Church Street. Alternatively, all ‘Pay and Display’ and residents’ parking bays are free if you are a blue badge holder.

GETTING AROUND CAMBRIDGE…

There are a number of ways to get around Cambridge and the surrounding area:

Park&Ride

Cambridge’s Park&Ride service operates from five sites: Trumpington Road, Newmarket Road, Babraham Road, Cowley Road and Madingley Road. A day return costs £3 (valid for one day), which includes the cost of parking your car. All Park and Ride buses are double door, low floor and easy access, appropriate for wheelchair and pushchair users.

Buses run from Monday – Saturday until approximately 8:30pm at a ten-minute frequency, with a limited service on Sundays.

Cycling

There is a rack for parking bicycles alongside the theatre by the entrance in St Edwards Passage or there are also bicycle racks on Peas Hill.

The Grand Arcade cycle park, a 5 minute walk away, has covered space for over 200 cycles. It closes every night at 11.30pm.

Bike Hire

OFO is the world’s first and leading “non-docking” bike sharing platform. OFO aims to provide a convenient, healthy and eco-friendly transport solution by making bikes available for everyone. To use the bikes users must first download the OFO app from the App Store or Google Play and register for an account. The bikes can be unlocked by simply scanning the QR code on the bike lock and within moments the locking mechanism will release. Explore your city with ofo and then close the lock to end your trip in the app. Parking is allowed anywhere bike parking is legally allowed. Start riding from just 70p per half hour with a maximum cap of £5 per day.

Accessibility ENTRANCES AT THE GUILDHALL

ENTRY OPTION FOR WHEELCHAIR, POWERCHAIR AND MOBILITY SCOOTER USERS

Peas Hill entrance

The Level access entrance is on Peas Hill where there is a lift to the Halls where RAREfest22 is being held.  This entrance is just left of the Tourist Information Centre entrance. There is a fairly long corridor from this lift to the Halls. The Peas Hill entrance is accessible by car/taxi for drop off.

ENTRY OPTION FOR THOSE REQUIRING LIFT ACCESS/LESS WALKING


Guildhall Street entrance

There is also a lift on the Guildhall  Street side of the building (opposite the side of ‘Yo Sushi’) but there are 4 steps from street level. If you can manage a few steps but not walk a long distance, we suggest you come to the Guildhall Street side as opposed to Peas Hill as when exiting the lift, the entrance to the Halls is closer.
