Over 300 million people live with a rare disease around the world. This global community faces many common challenges, such as difficult integration into education systems that are often ill-adapted, greater risk of financial hardship and job insecurity, inadequate healthcare pathways, as well as exclusion and discrimination. These “life challenges”  have only been made worse by the unfolding pandemic.

Advance the Achievement of Agenda 2030 and the SDGs –  The experiences of persons living with a rare disease and their families are closely linked to key pillars of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
